If you purchase a motorised lift recliner from us you may be able to claim VAT exemption. Please see below for further details.

How do I know if I am eligble to claim VAT releif?

You can claim VAT relief if you have a physical or mental impairment which has a:

* substantial;
* longterm; and
* adverse effect on your ability to carry out normal day-to-day activities.

You can also claim VAT relief if you have a long-term illness such as diabetes. You cannot, however, claim VAT relief if you only have a temporary illness or injury.

Do I need to be registered disabled?


No.

You do not need to be registered disabled to claim VAT relief on an E-Z-Lift power assisted recliner.

Do I need a doctors certificate to support my claim for VAT relief?

No. It is not required.

Can I get a refund of the tax from Customs and Excise?

No.

If you complete the VAT Exemption form and return it to us within 14 days after the recliner has been delivered WE will refund the VAT amount to you.

How do I register for VAT relief?

Complete the online form or we can post or fax one to you.

Return this form to us within 14 days after you have received the recliner and we will issue a refund for the VAT amount. The refund is normally processed within 48 hours after the declaration has been received.

How to Electronically Register for VAT Relief?

To Register for VAT Exemption electronically you need to complete the online VAT Exemption Form which can be found on the top menu bar under the Ordering & Payment Option.

Complete the online form, pressing continue when necessary, and enter your email address at the end.

Important

The email address must be the same as the one you entered when you registered your account with us, otherwise the VAT exemption is invalid and we will not be able to refund you the VAT amount.


What if I am unable to sign the declaration?

If you cannot sign the declaration you can get:

* your parent or guardian;
* a close relative;
* your doctor; or
* someone else who acts for you to so this.

What if I have made a mistake in claiming?

Customs and Excise check our records for persons who are claiming VAT relief.

You, or the person who acts for you, should tell us as soon as possible if you have wrongly claimed VAT relief.


When will I get my VAT back?

The VAT refund will be made after receipt of a fully completed exemption form and after delivery of the goods.
